I've posted a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! earlier so here's something cool to make up for it.

So I was at Wal-Mart, right? Loading up groceries and younger siblings in the car, right? I was distracted by an amazing start up sound followed by a deep burbly rumble somewhat reminiscent of a 2013 STi. (I heard one at a dealer as it was being delivered.) I promptly finished loading stuff and looked around to find the source. I cast my eyes upon a maroon Ford Mustang, like this one.

I decided to listen to advice on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and went to compliment the driver on the beautiful sound. I went to the passenger side window, crouched down, and waved in the window. Window rolled down, and there's an about 60-65 year old lady in the drivers seat, 30's-4o's in the passenger seat, and a teen girl crammed in the back. Instead of being awkward I quickly said "Hi, I don't know who owns this car, but I loved the intimidating rumble it produces." Not bad for an awkward teen if I say so myself. The driver promptly said thank you and explained it was just a Roush Stage 2 Mustang, but she used to have a Stage 3 Japanese car. She also noted how fun the car is especially on the track. (I forgot what it is.) I could tell they were busy, and I needed to go too for that matter, so we bid our farewells and I went back to my car and drove home.

Now I don't know about you, but I was VERY shocked to see not only a senior citizen utilizing this car to it's fullest extent, but a woman too. Props to her for not backing down even in her old age and continuing in what she loves.

I once met a pair of 65+ older women taking a cross-country roadtrip in a red miata. Yes. Cross country. Miata. They were cool as hell.

A friend of mine at work is like that. She is close to twice my age, her daughter is a year older than me, and she's been working for the company longer than I've been alive. With that said she is a big time car enthusiast. Mostly American muscle. She has a 2005 mustang GT convertible. It was a first production run convertible, so it is one of 50 (one for each state). She already has a full exhaust on it, plus she just got some 20" wheels put on it. It's pretty sweet. I just put muffler deletes on my coyote mustang. I'm pretty sure after hearing mine she is about to do the same. lol. I'm not really one to talk to many people. When I first moved to the dept she was already working in I didn't speak to her for a month or two. One day we got to talking about cars and we found out we are both gear heads. We've been friends ever since. It's funny because we don't really have anything else in common, but we get along great because of cars. Oh, and she's a huge NHRA fan. Watches every race.

At one of the auto-x events I went to last year, there was an older woman running an GT3 RS on slicks. She was pretty awesome.

Good for her! Not driving a Grand Marquis, or some Lincoln, and not clogging up the highway going 40 in a 65 with the right blinker on.
